Risk disclosure

Key risks behind crypto strategies, signals, simulations, and analytics.

Last updated: May 23, 2026

Market risk

Crypto assets can be highly volatile and speculative. Prices may move quickly, liquidity may disappear, spreads may widen, and losses can occur rapidly.

Market access and pricing can also be affected by exchange outages, trading halts, forks, regulatory actions, security incidents, and extreme demand.

Strategy risk

A strategy that performs well in one market regime may perform poorly in another. Rules, indicators, thresholds, and timing assumptions can fail when market behavior changes.

Backtest and simulation limits

Historical results, virtual balances, and paper-trading outcomes do not guarantee future live performance. They may not fully reflect fees, slippage, latency, order book depth, exchange downtime, or execution differences.

Optimized or curve-fit strategies may look strong in historical data and still fail when market conditions change.

Automation and signal risk

Automated workflows and signals can be delayed, interrupted, misconfigured, or affected by data, API, exchange, network, browser, device, or infrastructure issues.

A signal or analytics view may be incomplete, late, stale, or based on assumptions that do not match live execution conditions.

Leverage and liquidation

Using leverage can amplify both gains and losses. Leveraged positions may be liquidated quickly and may result in losses that exceed expected limits.

Third-party and custody risk

If you use third-party exchanges, wallets, APIs, or data providers, their rules, fees, downtime, security practices, account restrictions, and custody arrangements can affect outcomes. CryptOwl does not control those services.

Regulatory and tax risk

Crypto rules can change and may differ by jurisdiction. Taxes, reporting obligations, exchange access, and permitted trading activity are your responsibility.

User responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing strategy logic, risk settings, order behavior, exchange configuration, and whether any trading activity is appropriate for your situation.

Do not rely on CryptOwl as your only source of review before making financial decisions.

No guaranteed outcome

CryptOwl does not guarantee profit, performance, loss avoidance, market access, execution quality, or any specific financial result.
